Summertime Saga is a non-linear visual novel. You can pursue character routes in almost any order, but a few story gates require the main arc to be partially completed first. These tips will save you hours of backtracking.
Complete the main story intro first — The first two main story objectives unlock key locations used by nearly every character route.
Save at every major decision — Use multiple save slots. Some dialogue choices affect scenes several hours later.
Check character schedules — Most characters are only available at specific locations and times of day. If they are not appearing, check the time.

Character Routes Overview
Summertime Saga features over a dozen character routes. Below are the primary routes grouped by difficulty for new players.
Main Story Arc
Start here. Unlocks core locations and introduces the primary cast. Required before most other routes open.
Diane Route
One of the more straightforward character routes. Mostly triggered by visiting the garden location at specific times.
Debbie Route
Requires main story progress to mid-point. Several time-sensitive decisions that affect later scenes.
Mrs. Smith Route
School-based route that unlocks after completing two main story chapters. Check school schedules carefully.
Eve Route
Requires several prerequisite routes to be partially completed. One of the longer arcs in the game.
Roxxy Route
School social hierarchy route. Requires specific dialogue choices early in the main story arc.
